Portimao is in the heart of Algarve, and is a municipality where you will find lots of places to see and fun activities to do, mostly in the outdoors.

To begin, some of the things to do during your holidays in Portimao are: go to the beach and take in a little sun and a dip in the sea on Rocha Beach or Alvor Beach, two of Portimao´s most marvellous beaches. You will find plenty of services there too; Discover the cultural patrimony of this city and its outskirts. They are incredible, especially the Churche of Nuestra Señora de la Concepción.

This region of the Arade River is paradise for nature lovers. Here you can birdwatch on vacation, or take in the natural beauty of the countryside, and river channels that surround you.

The sports you can watch here as well as cultural shows, can be seen in Portimao. Some examples are the Boardercross Championships, kitesurf or windsurf competitions, or festivals of live jazz and Mediterranean music.
